Wonderful character property to restore, set in the heart of the lovely Tuscan town of Montopoli, an ancient medieval Tuscan town, with panoramic views from the garden.
The west facing garden (50 sqm) is a particular feature, with views towards the countryside and the beautiful hilltop villages.
The property is currently arranged as two apartments, one on the first floor and one on the second floor, but could easily be connected to form one spacious house. The current layout is, on the first floor, a living room, kitchen, two double bedrooms (each with balcony) and a bathroom, and on the second floor there is an open living/ dining room, kitchen, one bedroom and a large terrace.
There is a large private garage and a cantina on the ground floor.
L’Architrave works with a sister company and a Geometra to be able to provide planning guidance, design consultancy and project management of all required works. This team have overseen a number of wonderful restorations in the area.
Montopoli is set in the heart of Tuscany, between Pisa and Florence. There are many interesting places to visit: San Miniato, has a Diocesan Museum and is famous for the white truffle; the town of Vinci is the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci and hosts a wonderful museum in his honour; Montelupo Fiorentino hosts an important museum of Renaissance ceramics works; and Artimino, with a collection of wonderful Medici villas.
This area has been continuously inhabited since the Etruscan time: almost all the villages in the surrounding hills already existed in ancient times and it is not a rare event to come across Etruscan finds and archaeological excavations.
Distances: Pisa (airport) 40 km, Florence 50 km, beaches 40 km, Volterra 50 km, San Gimignano 45 km, Lucca 40 km, Siena 80 km.
