Detached house with 3 bedrooms, swimming pool, private gated driveway in a pretty village in the Lunigiana hills. Terrific views and mountain walks.
Beautiful 3 bed detached house (200 sqm) with swimming pool, situated in the hills above Fivizzano.
The house has a semi open plan configuration in the living areas, and a great connection between indoor and out. There are three glass double doors which lead from the sitting room and kitchen to the outside dining area and porch. The sitting room is spacious and full of light, with a large fireplace. The kitchen is spacious enough for a table and chairs and is very well-equipped with a newly installed wood-fired pizza oven. Downstairs there is also a good double bedroom with adjacent shower room, and a walk-in storage cupboard.
A lovely wooden staircase leads up to a generous landing. The master bedroom is very large, with beamed ceiling and with a balcony off, which has terrific views of the mountains. There is another double bedroom and a large bathroom with bath and shower.
The outside area is level and lawned, with the swimming pool just next to the house and in full sun. The swimming pool was newly installed two years ago. There is also a pool hut for changing, and there is a laundry area behind the house. There are also 30+ olive trees and the garden is prettily planted. The gated driveway is a big bonus, so access is simple.
There are marked walking trails all around the vicinity, and the ski resort of Cerreto Laghi for winter skiing and summer walking is just 20 kms.
The village is in the hills set just 2 kms from Fivizzano town. There is a friendly community of permanent italian villagers and summer visitors from all over the world. It is possible to walk to Fivizzano on an old mule trail.
Fivizzano is a medieval walled town with a central cobbled piazza and is often referred to as the Florence of Lunigiana. The bustling town hosts many cultural events over the summer with concerts in the piazza and re-enactments of medieval parades. With its musical heritage the town also attracts international musicians during its annual folk music festival. There is a hospital, shops and good restaurants in the town.
Lunigiana is a magical part of Tuscany starting with its name the ‘Land of the Moon’. The hills that encircle Lunigiana create an intimate and relaxed atmosphere whilst the blend of the mountains and sea are extremely inviting to those who enjoy the outdoors. The rolling landscape is liberally sprinkled with castles of Medici or Malaspina vintage but for lovers of the coast the sea is only half-an-hours’ drive away.
Lunigiana is special and has been likened to a magical kingdom. It is not only the breath-taking scenery with its abundance of medieval castles but you simply feel a huge sense of well being radiating from the sunshine, glorious countryside, delicious food and wine, kind friendly locals and most importantly, from the sense of tradition and community among people here that is rarely seen in modern day life.
The golden sandy beaches around Lerici and the pebble coves of the Cinque Terre are ideal for swimming and sailing in the summer while the snow clad mountains offer skiing in the local resorts during the winter months and are each a short drive away. The area is criss-crossed with marked footpaths for walks to the hills and mountains. The airports of Pisa, Parma and Genova are all within an hours’ drive.
