History inside history: that’s what you can experience in this amazing property in the historic centre of Fermo.
The house dates back to the 1700s but the overall structure is much older as the big round room on the basement testifies: this room, indeed, is part of an ancient Roman Temple, still in excellent conditions and it seems it develops further on downwards. The round room has always been used as a banquet hall, thanks to its unique style with arches and niches, decorated with the Roman remains found during the excavation.
The total area of house is about 475 sq.m. developing on 3 floors:
Round Room of about 65 sq.m. built on a Roman Temple (later on a local mint) used as a banquet hall.
the main entrance hall is spacious and classy, thanks to its grand staircase, leading to the first floor. From the hall, you have direct access to the double lounge: two rooms, which could be also used as a living room, plus an elegant dining room for your guests. Both rooms feature stucco ceilings, that perfectly match with the classy atmosphere of the whole house. From here, you can exit out to the balcony, overlooking the wonderful landscape stretching from the sea to the mountains. On the same floor there are a bathroom, a storage, a kitchen and a dining room, with a big fireplace, perfectly working, useful to heat up the room but also to cook some good food.
stepping up the grand staircase, you enter a big room with frescoed ceiling, which leads you to the 4 bedrooms. This room, could be used as a private studio or as a lounge, where you can have breakfast and relax before stepping down the ground floor. All the 4 bedrooms feature beautiful and elegant frescoed ceilings, perfectly preserved and illuminated by antique chandeliers. The 2 master bedrooms are spacious and ensuite. The other 2 bedrooms are served by a third bathroom.
From the round room, you have direct exit to the exclusive 200 sq.m. terraced garden, facing South. From here you can enjoy an amazing 180° view, from the Adriatic sea on your left, to the Sibillini Mountains to your right, passing through the green rolling hills in the middle. With just one glance, you’ll be able to see all the typical landscapes of region Marche.
One of the major plus of this house, is definitely the evocative atmosphere you can literally breathe as soon as you step in. All the original details have been perfectly and carefully mantained, because history and art are something you can’t remove with a brush stroke.
The location in the historic centre is excellent, for those who’d like to have all services at your fingertips. Being active part of the life of Fermo, will be very easy: you just have to go to Piazza del Popolo, which is just 200 mts away from the house to be involved in the daily life of the town and all the events that this cultural town organizes. As a matter of facts, Fermo is quite a lively place by a cultural and artistic point of view: weekly antique markets are organized in the summer and its lovely Teatro dell’Aquila has a rich program of shows all year around.
