Sicily Of course, the beautiful and flavoured food really makes the Italian summer such a fantastic time of year. After Spring, with its delicate greens, lively Mediterranean vegetables and succulent fruits are filled with the distinctive flavour of the Italian sun. Italian summer recipes are healthy, quick and easy, refreshing and light to overcome the high temperatures and this means, in true Italian style, that it’s always the right time to happily indulge in the heavenly taste of an ice cream, sorbet or granita for dessert!  

Delicious Watermelon Sorbet

Watermelon sorbet is a very quick dessert to prepare without an ice cream. Indeed, you just need some watermelon cubes in the freezer and, in a few minutes, you will have a refreshing summer dessert to serve after dinner.

Ingredients: 400 g watermelon (pulp only) About 20 g of icing sugar 2 tablespoons of lemon juice Procedure: Cut the watermelon into small cubes and remove the seeds. Put in the freezer for 4 hours. Transfer to a blender with the icing sugar and lemon juice.

If the mixture is too grainy, add a little water. Blend and serve your watermelon sorbet immediately.
