ANCIENT CASTLE WITH A WIEW OF CORBARA LAKE

At the sight of its mighty yet harmonious structure, one is immediately taken by the charm of time and history. The medieval castle Podium Morri stands on a rise of about 6 hectares with a 360° view of the surrounding hills and the beautiful Lake Corbara, along the scenic road connecting Orvieto to Todi. The castle is accessed by a gravel road that ends in front of the large stone-paved courtyard. A large lawn with garden surrounds it, as does the wood of oaks and holm oaks that covers the three sides of the hill.

The castle of approximately 500 square metres has an imposing stone structure, a large arched doorway that retains its original jambs and architrave, an interesting stone barrel vault inside and a cross-vaulted hall on the first floor. The building has four floors above ground (the last two are inside the tower), all connected internally by wooden stairs. The salon with its high cross-vaulted ceilings and arched windows is the highlight of the entire building. It has terracotta floors, a large stone fireplace and an elegant wooden staircase leading to the upper floor.
The main door of the house opens into the hall. On either side of it are doors leading to the large, bright kitchen and the hallway to the sleeping area: a living room, a bedroom, two bathrooms and an external door leading out onto the terrace.

The second floor includes a living room, a large bedroom and a bathroom. The floors are in terracotta and the ceiling in wood. The staircase from the living room leads to the attic, where there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. It has its own entrance thanks to the beautiful stone staircase that starts in the courtyard and ends in a small terrace with a splendid view of the lake and the hills. In addition to the main house, there are two autonomous flats on the ground floor: a one-room flat with kitchen, bathroom and loft bed and a two-room apartment with kitchen and fireplace, bedroom and bathroom (for a total of eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms). On the ground floor, in addition to the service rooms, connected by a charming little bridge, are the storerooms and, in the immediate vicinity of the castle, a number of grottini, a former washhouse and a chicken coop (approx. 100 sqm in total).
