The castle dates back to the 13th century, but thanks to the ancient coins found in the village, and currently kept at the Numismatic Museum of the University of Perugia, it has been possible to ascertain the existence of the settlement since the Roman Republican age.

At Christmas time in Armenzano and its alleys, a ‘Presepe vivente’ is performed, very suggestive and appreciated by the umbrians.
All services can be found in Assisi. A few km from Armenzano there is a major road leading to the motorway both north and south. In Assisi there is a railway station connected to the main Italian cities.
The Perugia airport, ‘San Francesco di Assisi’, is 25 minutes away by car from Armenzano. Rome and Florence can be reached by car in about 2 hours.
